Start your tour early in the morning at Mehtab Bagh, also known as the “Moonlight Garden.” Located on the opposite bank of the Taj Mahal, this garden offers a stunning view of the iconic monument. Stroll along the pathways lined with fragrant flowers and enjoy the serene ambiance as you watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal.
Next, make your way to Ram Bagh, believed to be one of the oldest Mughal gardens in India. Built by Emperor Babur, it is laid out in the traditional Persian Charbagh style, with divided quadrants and water channels. Take a leisurely walk amidst the lush greenery, admire the symmetrical layout, and marvel at the intricate waterworks.
Afterward, visit Mariam’s Tomb Garden, dedicated to Mariam-uz-Zamani, the wife of Emperor
Akbar. The garden boasts a charming blend of Mughal and Persian architectural styles, with ornate gateways, pavilions, and lush green lawns. Take a moment to admire the intricate craftsmanship and pay homage to Mariam-uz-Zamani at her tomb.
Conclude your tour at Chini Ka Rauza Garden, located near the Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb. This
garden is famous for its stunning glazed tile work, which adorns the tomb of Afzal Khan, a Persian poet and scholar. Wander through the picturesque garden, adorned with colorful tiles and intricate patterns, and admire the beauty of this lesser-known masterpiece.
