Best time to visit

October to June — Ranthambore National Park closes for monsoon from July to September. April to June is hottest (up to 45°C/113°F), but tigers often stay near water holes then, improving sightings.

Overview

Five days gives the Golden Triangle-plus-Ranthambore route real breathing room over the 4-day version — an extra night in Ranthambore for a second safari, and no day that combines a full morning of sightseeing with a long afternoon drive.

The itinerary follows the same four stops — Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur — with one extra night in Ranthambore so the safari becomes two game drives instead of one, genuinely improving the odds of a tiger sighting rather than resting on a single morning.

Private car, driver and guide throughout, the same group from the first day in Delhi to the last day back in Delhi. Travellers with more time to spare should look at the full 6-day tour, which adds a full extra day on top of this.

Frequently asked questions

How many safaris are included?

Two — a dawn and a late-afternoon jeep safari into Ranthambore National Park on day 3, the two sessions generally rated best for tiger activity. The 4-day version of this tour includes only one; the 6-day version spreads two safaris across a full extra day in the park.

Is 5 days enough to properly see the Golden Triangle plus Ranthambore?

Yes — this is the version built specifically to avoid the long double-duty days the 4-day tour needs to fit everything in. Every day here has one clear focus, sightseeing or driving, never both stacked into a single afternoon.

When is Ranthambore National Park open?

October through June. The park closes completely for monsoon every year from July 1 to September 30, and its core safari zones are also closed every Wednesday year-round. Within the open season, April to June is the hottest stretch (up to 45°C/113°F) but often produces the best tiger sightings, since tigers stay close to the park's water holes.

Is a tiger sighting guaranteed?

No reputable operator can promise one — Ranthambore's tigers are wild animals in a large reserve, not a zoo. Two safaris meaningfully improve the odds over a single game drive, though even two can't guarantee a sighting.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes — with two safaris and no day that doubles up sightseeing and a long drive, this is the more comfortable of the two shorter Ranthambore options for families. The safari itself has no minimum age, though Ranthambore's open-jeep vehicles mean a few hours in the sun each session.

What's the difference between this and the 4 or 6-day versions?

This 5-day tour adds a second Ranthambore safari and a calmer pace to the 4-day version. The 6-day tour adds a full extra day on top of that, with more time in each city.

Is a visa required?

Most nationalities need an Indian e-Visa, applied for online before arrival. It isn't included in the tour price and isn't something we can apply for on a traveller's behalf — check the official Indian government e-Visa site for your nationality's requirements well before departure.

Know more about this tour

Ranthambore National Park was once the private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, and the 10th-century fort inside the reserve — which gives the park its name — is still standing, visible from several of the safari routes. It became a tiger reserve in 1973 under India's Project Tiger initiative and is now one of the more reliable places in India to see a wild Bengal tiger, thanks to a relatively open, dry-deciduous landscape where tigers are easier to spot than in denser forest reserves elsewhere in the country.

This four-stop combination — Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur — is a variant of the classic Golden Triangle route with a wildlife stop added between Agra and Jaipur. The extra night here compared to the 4-day version goes entirely to Ranthambore, not to the cities — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur get the same amount of time either way.
