Save 22%Private Taj Mahal at Sunrise and Agra Day Tour from Delhi
Watch the Taj Mahal glow at first light on a private same-day tour from Delhi, with Agra Fort and breakfast included.
Every one of our Taj Mahal tours starts from the same premise: you get one visit to this monument on this trip, so it shouldn't be rushed, crowded into a coach itinerary, or timed badly. All twelve tours below are private — your own car, your own guide, your own pace inside the complex.
The difference between them is how you get there and when. Sunrise departures from Delhi beat the tour-bus crush by two hours. Same-day trips by car or train work for a shorter visit. And if you're already staying in Agra, several tours start there instead, no 3am wake-up required.

The gates open around 30 minutes before official sunrise. Arriving then means the marble is still cool, the light is soft and directional instead of flat overhead glare, and you're photographing the Taj Mahal without three hundred other people in the frame. This is the one time slot our guides recommend without qualification.
A same-day trip means leaving Delhi in the morning and being back by evening — no hotel in Agra required. It works well if you're not doing the sunrise slot, or if you're flying into Delhi from elsewhere in India and only have the one day to spare.
Agra Fort is a fifteen-minute drive from the Taj Mahal and, unlike the Taj, you can actually explore its interior — courtyards, the Diwan-i-Khas, and the octagonal tower where Shah Jahan spent his final years looking out at the monument he built. Combining the two in one day is the most common request we get, and it's what most of these tours are built around.
The Gatimaan Express covers Delhi to Agra in about 100 minutes — India's fastest train — and beats the Yamuna Expressway on a bad traffic day. Both train tours below include a guide and car waiting at Agra Cantt station, so the train is just the fastest leg, not the whole plan.
If you're already staying in Agra — before or after a longer Rajasthan trip, say — these tours skip the Delhi transfer entirely and start from your hotel. They go deeper into the city too: the gardens across the river, and the old quarter's marble-inlay workshops that most day-trippers from Delhi never see.
A private, air-conditioned car with driver, a licensed English-speaking guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, and help with your Taj Mahal entry ticket. Exact inclusions vary by tour — check the included/excluded list on each tour page before booking.
Sunrise entry has a separate, limited ticket allocation, and it's sold at the gate rather than online in most cases. We recommend confirming your tour at least a few days ahead so your guide can plan the queue timing — sunrise slots do sell out during the November–February peak season.
Yes — the Taj Mahal is closed to visitors every Friday, for weekly prayers at the mosque inside the complex. Plan your visit for any other day of the week.
Yes, this is the most common itinerary we run. A private car covers the roughly 3.5-hour drive each way on the Yamuna Expressway, leaving enough daylight for both monuments if you start early. Several tours above are built specifically for this combination.
