Best time to visit

October to March for clear, mild mornings; sunrise is the quietest slot all year. Opens 30 minutes before sunrise, closes 30 minutes before sunset. Closed every Friday.

Overview

The simplest way to sort out a Taj Mahal visit: we book your official entry ticket for your chosen date and time, and a licensed guide meets you at the gate to show you around — at no extra charge. You arrive, skip the ticket counter, and go straight in.

Choose between the standard entry, which covers the gateway, gardens, mosque and riverside terrace, and entry with the main mausoleum, which adds the ₹200 supplement to go inside the marble chamber with the cenotaphs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. For a first visit, the mausoleum is worth it.

This is the ticket-first option for travellers already staying in Agra or arriving with their own driver. If you'd like hotel pickup, a longer guided visit or Agra Fort as well, the skip-the-line Taj Mahal ticket with guide covers all three.

    Explore the Taj Mahal

Around an hour and a half with your guide through the gateway, the Charbagh gardens and the reflecting pool, the mosque and the riverside terrace — and, with the mausoleum option, inside the marble chamber itself. Stay on afterwards as long as you like within your ticket's time.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Taj Mahal ticket for foreign tourists?

The official price for foreign nationals is ₹1,100 for the complex, plus ₹200 to enter the main mausoleum chamber — ₹1,300 in total. Our price includes the ticket, the booking and your complimentary guide.

Is the guide really free?

Yes. A licensed guide is included with every ticket at no extra cost, for around an hour and a half. Tipping is up to you.

Do I need to show ID?

Yes — bring your passport. Ticket prices depend on nationality, and staff can check that your ticket matches your ID at the gate.

Do children need a ticket?

No — children under 15 enter free. You only need tickets for travellers aged 15 and over.

When is the Taj Mahal open?

From 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes before sunset, every day except Friday, when it closes for prayers. The booking calendar won't offer Fridays.

Is the main mausoleum worth the extra ₹200?

For a first visit, yes. Without it you see the Taj from the gardens and the plinth; with it you go inside the chamber with the cenotaphs and the finest pietra dura inlay work.

I'm an Indian or SAARC national — can I book here?

Yes, but your ticket costs much less than the foreign-national price shown here. Send an enquiry with your nationality and we'll quote the correct amount.

Know more about this tour

Taj Mahal tickets are issued by the Archaeological Survey of India, which sets separate prices for foreign nationals, for visitors from SAARC and BIMSTEC countries, and for Indian citizens. The foreign-national ticket is the higher-value one, and it comes with shoe covers, a bottle of water and access to a separate, usually shorter, security lane at the gate. The main mausoleum chamber is ticketed separately to limit crowding inside the tomb itself.
